Glimpsed Lately Around the Yard
I was hoping that I'd get some decent sunlight for bird photography this weekend but it was not to be. What we did get was almost three inches of much-needed rain and the associated clouds, thunder, and lightning. After the cleansing renewal of the downpours, that familiar summer-in-SE-Ohio humidity settled in. Oofta!
So I have nothing very new to share here. These images were all taken in the past 10 days. Then, the sun shone, bathing the farm in lemony light and making my photography work much easier.

I'll say that penquin is off course, but it was smart to land on Indigo Hill!
Yes, and luckily, we had some really old frozen shrimp in the freezer (that fell out and smashed my toes while I was looking for a popsicle).
The penguin is still there this morning. Think I'll set up the photo blind and try to get some action shots.
I hope the cavemen of the HDB had a good weekend. Did Chet and the penguin share those hot dogs ?
Hey, enough already with pictures of birds on a birding blog - We want a report on the Hot Dog Brothers wild and crazy weekend!

PS: Did you get any confirmed breeding activity on that penguin? You know, carrying nesting material, brood patch, etc.?
