"In this painting the warblers are close to the viewer, showing in vivid detail the brilliant yellow in the plumage, as well as the more subtle colors and features that make up the living bird. Actual warbler watching is, of course, not always this easy. One must follow the bright bits of color on these chickadee-sized creatures as they flit in and out of cover and through the woodland shadows."
