"In this painting the warblers are close to the viewer, showing in vivid detail the brilliant yellow in the plumage, as well as the more subtle colors and features that make up the living bird. Actual warbler watching is, of course, not always this easy. One must follow the bright bits of color on these chickadee-sized creatures as they flit in and out of cover and through the woodland shadows."

Stephen Leed is a self-taught artist who has been drawing and painting birds since childhood. He has twice won the Pennslyvania State Working Together for Wildlife Conservation Print Competition. He has also placed highly in national animal art competitions and has won many local awards. He resides in Lititz, Pennsylvania, the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, in a "house full of birds," including three small parrots and nearly a dozen canaries.

A limited edition of 300 prints has been created in a horizontal format. The actual image size is 14" x 10", the matted size is 18" x 14", and the framed sized is approximately 20" x 16". Each print is signed and numbered by the artist. The full-color reproduction is printed on a neutral pH, acid-free paper.
