Pete Dunne, author of The Feather Quest, dazzles readers again in his latest book—a tale of the unfolding spring season as experienced by birds and other wildlife in the American prairie. In Prairie Spring, Dunne explores the evolving season through many lenses: ecology, astronomy, botany, and spirituality to name a few. Throughout this superb narrative, Dunne’s characteristic humor compliments his vast knowledge about the natural world.

Typical Pete Dunne--eco-insights; humor, people, descriptive. Enjoyed greatly. This book would benefit from a map, showing the areas covered, and more photos or drawings of the prairie plants. I had hoped for a bit more lyricism about the prairie, like Wallace's \"Idle Weeds\"--the life of a Sandstone Ridge.
