What are you thankful for?

I am most grateful to have been proven totally wrong in my opinion of birders. Little did I know they are the most generous lot, always happy to share their knowledge without making you feel stupid when being asked the same questions again and again. So for you novices out there, please don't hesitate to join a group. You will meet some great people from all walks of life, have fun and learn a lot to boot.

I am so very thankful for my beautiful family and that the entire family has a gratitude for our faith. I am also thankful for the many types of birds that migrate through the narrow Dry Fork Canyon that we are priviledged to live in. I wish that I (a senior "granny") knew the names of the birds. My husband has "planted" dead tree limbs next to our deck. We hang all sorts of feeders as the weather dictates on the branches. I am thankful for the fine newsletter that you provide. Thank you for asking.

We are thankful for the many beautiful birds we enjoy watching in our back yard and for those who work so hard to protect them for the present and the future.

Thanksgiving is surely a time to thankful for so many things, more than we are sometimes will to admit. Those of us who watch birds, etc. need to appreciate and be thankful for so many areas of our country that have been set aside (and new areas being considered) to protect and support birdlife. I know we think more are needed and that's true but let's be grateful for what has been done and work constructively and faithfully toward an even better future.
