Tropical Bird Parts

We're up to our caruncles in sandhill cranes and snow geese in Nebraska in addition to giving talks and playing music, so it's been hard to keep up with my BOTB responsibilities. Here's something to chew on--it's a headless shot of a bird from Tikal. Do you know what it is?

I have LOTS of shots of bird parts to share and a few that are actually not so bad. Looking forward to having some time to get back into my blogflow. Now if the glacier of snow that's buried Ohio would melt just enough to permit safe travel, I'll be a campy happer.

The snow has stopped falling in southwest Ohio, and everything is really pretty and sunny and white! Travel should be safe from here on out. And Spring is just around the corner....

Yeah, I KNOW it's an Ocellated Turkey...because ol' Bill made it too easy.

Bill, you silly goose, you cannot label the photo "OcelTurk-708052.jpg" (which we can all plainly SEE when our mouse hovers over the picture...) and then start a 'Name the Bird' Game.

Looking forward to you and Julie returning safely! Your weather made our local news in Charlotte.

By the way: "BOTB responsibilities" - hey, it doesn't matter. Take a break, THEN show us your two week adventure.

Do you have any idea how envious I am? It's been way too long since I was last at Tikal ogling OceTurks. Ah, well -- I guess I'll settle for Black-throated Magpie-Jays in Sonora week after next.

Here's wishing for warm winds to clear your path home.

I knew Ocellated Turkey, but didn't know how to spell "ocellated." can't wait for more photos. Get some sleep, shovel some snow, then get back to bloggin'!

I would enjoy seeing yours and other birders pictures of "bird parts" as you call it. I have many quickly taken shots of half a bird, a birds wing, a birds tail, or foot...all taken with the hope that the entire bird would be there!!
