88 species was a record high for the CVWO count, and included 6 new species for the cumulative count list of 153 species since 1999: Northen Gannet, American Bittern, Ruddy Duck, Pileated Woodpecker, White-eyed Vireo, and Blue Grosbeak. First time missed in 12 years of "Sitting": Ring-billed Gull!

This day produced the best hawk flight of the season to date for the CVWO hawkwatch, with 2,045 individuals tallied and record dialy high counts for a number of species such as Peregrines (138).
