Team Notes

Participants: 6 people

Weather: cool clear morning, warm sunny afternoon

Location: Tule Trail, Stillwater NWR, FAllon, NV

Time At Location: 7am - 3pm

Notes:
LOTS of blackbirds in huge flocks coming in from hayfields; as day warmed, weed-control goat herd moved closer, which brought the swallows in hordes diving after the insects the goats kicked up; very entertaining to watch!

Anecdotes:
early afternoon, the raptors appeared, and seemed to play or practice at chasing the warblers and swallows into the cottonwoods, never catching any. biting insects soon followed and no amount of lotion, spray, repellant, swatting or protective clothing won that battle! even the goats left, along with most of the birds!
