Team Notes

Participants: Ray Scory

Weather: Sunny 70 - 85 degrees F, wind 0-5 mph

Location: Under the Dunlawton Bridge on the Halifax River in Port Orange, Florida

Time At Location: 8 Hours

Notes:
Observed a Northern Harrier flying north very low over the Halifax River followed close behind by a lone Roseate Spoonbill. Observed over 1500 White Ibis and over 2000 Laughing Gulls occupying the oyster bars and spoil islands especially during the early morning low tide.

Anecdotes:
The Dunlawton Bridge Causeway Park is an active area on a Sunday. While my species count is not overwhelming, I do get a chance to talk to many people about birding and the activities and good works of my chapter, the Halifax River Audubon.
