Firing a marshmallow gun results in a massive bird sighting, but then afterward, not so much. Bill brewed two commemorative beers for this occasion: The Big Sit Brown, a nut-brown ale combining the finer elements of the British style with hops from the American Northwest, and The Big Sit Bitter, a classic American IPA with a well-balanced maltiness and a pleasant citrus aftertaste. Dudley DoWright participants preferred the Big Sit Brown over the Big Sit Bitter two-to-one.

Our circle name, Dudley Dowright, is the nickname for our Sit Queen's favorite Northern Flicker who visits her birdfeeder. Our team was delighted to have a Northern Flicker frequently visit our sit. One of our sitters was a novice birder, and she was gleeful to spot a Downy Woodpecker, which the team identified for her. Our Sit Queen added two birds to her lifelist during the sit: The White-eyed Vireo and the Rough-legged Hawk. The team sponsored a costume and t-shirt contest, with the grand prize winner taking home a hand-crafted native red cedar nesting box for screech owls. Also during the Sit, Queen Helen awarded Dump Estates a National Wildlife Habitat certification plaque.
