Team Notes

Participants: Christian Cederroth, Peter Nilsson and guests from the biding hostel

Weather: Wind ESE 6 m/s (from the sea), Clouds 7/8, +12°C

Location: Top of the Segerstads fyr ("Victory City Lighthouse"), Öland Island, SE of the Swedish mainland in The Baltic Sea.

Time At Location: 7–11, 13–19.

Notes:
Autumn had progressed further than normal this time (116 species during a Big Sit in September!) but some goodies showed: A Caspian Gull on migration, some Little Gulls, A Short-eared Owl, some 14000 Geese and Duck on migration and four White-tailed Eagles hunting around the lighthouse itself.

Anecdotes:
The Segerstad lighthouse was abandoned twice: once to gear up to the brand new Zeiss Victory HT 8x42:s (!) and once because a sudden flash of lightning struck just a few hundred meters away (!!) Horrifying.
