Team Notes

Participants: Bill Thompson III, Julie Zickefoose, Kyle Carlsen, Tanya Wilder, Wendy Eller, Phoebe Thompson, Liam Thompson, Chet Baker Boston Terrier

Weather: Mostly clear 75F high, 30F low, winds NW turinging to SW

Location: Indigo Hill Birding Tower, Whipple, Ohio

Time At Location: 17 hours

Notes:
This is a SATURDAY Sit. Being a bit later in October this Sit missed a lot of the usual suspects among the bird species: indigo bunting, scarlet tanager, any mimid, any vireo, screech owl. But we did have some goodies: merlin, woodcock, wild turkey, yellow-bellied sapsucker, pine warbler.

Anecdotes:
We did a Big Sit BOTH Saturday Oct 13 and Sunday October 14 (the traditional Sit date) Total species for Sat: 61. Sunday: 52. Saturday's weather was better and birdier, with just a handful of visiting birders. Sunday was windy as heck, making it difficult to find small songbirds in the tossing vegetation, but that's when we had our big crowd of bird watchers show up. We had a blast BOTH days. And the food was truly feast-worthy.
