Team Notes

Participants: David McNaughton, Barbara Ritzheimer, Julie and Stanley Eckenrode

Weather: overcast start to clear skies by end, low 50's to high 68, 1-15mph east surface winds with high transport winds

Location: Swatara State Park old Suedberg Airport

Time At Location: 13:02 (0537-1839)

Ended with thousands of American Robins pouring in overhead and a small flock of about a dozen Rusty Blackbirds for the final species. Made up for last year's raptor drought with Red-taileds and Red-shouldereds along with an excellent low view of a Cooper's crossing from one mountain to the next south.

Last year's circle center was under 2.5 feet of water from Thursday/Friday's 9 inches of rain so we moved the circle about 20 yards north to drier ground which was also saturated but not above the soil. 35 species through the end of the morning rush, another 5 species coming quickly at 1030, slow increase through the afternoon, and final 3 species at dusk.
