Team Notes

Participants: Arroyo Colorado Audubon Society

Weather: Scattered showers, partly cloudy and hot until 3 pm when a heavy rain event with lighting ended our Sit.

Location: The Inn at Chachalaca Bend, Los Fresnos, TX

Time At Location: 10 hours

Notes:
Bird of the Day - Peregrine Falcon that circled low right over us as if to see what the heck all those people were doing on that little dock.

Anecdotes:
Non-birding high light of the day - mid-afternoon the managers of the Inn brought wash cloths that had been dipped in scented water and frozen for us to put on our necks. They cooled us as we waited for the next bird to appear in the heat of South Texas. They also supplied us with water and snacks as well. This was the first but hopefully not the last Big Sit by ACAS at this wonderful birding site.
