Team Notes

Participants: 20

Weather: Cold, then hot, ended with lighting and thunder and rain drops so big that each one drenched us.

Location: Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve

Time At Location: 13 hours

Fun to see the comings and goings of the various species throughout the day. This is a public location and gave us lots of time to do some birding public relations. We had nine hot air balloons over us at one point. This was our lowest count total at this location, probably due to the recent return of summer-like weather.

RL Rowland has his usual famous PBML sandwiches. Peanut butter mayo and lettuce. My son says they are actually good. I was too afraid to try. We had a couple hybrids or subspecies that made things interesting. One Myrtle's Yellow-rumped Warbler amid all the Audubon's. One Yellow-shafted Integrade Norther Flicker among all the Red-shafted. And one Slate-colored junco with the Oregon juncos.
