Team Notes

Participants: Friends of Great Swamp NWR hosted a team of local birders at the refuge

Weather: Clear sky to start. Heavy mist pre/post dawn to clear blue sky until sunset. Temps 40-65F

Location: Great Swamp NWR, Basking Ridge, NJ

Time At Location: 03:00 to 19:00

Notes:
Great weather for owls to serenade us.Beautiful fall colors in the mist at sunrise as snipe, woodcock and bittern took short flights. The clear blue sky made it difficult to pick up on high flying migrating species. Ducks in the fading light at sunset were a nice end to the long day.
