Team Notes

Participants: Derek and Hilary Stoner, Roger and Lynda Stoner, Erika Jacke

Weather: Cloudy, 48 to 58 degrees, light West winds

Location: At end of pond in pasture, at Stoner Family Farm in Eden, PA

Time At Location: 6:31am to 11:31am

A strong dawn chorus was echoed later in the morning between 10:00 and 11:00am with lots of songbirds activity in the pasture/meadow. Dozens of sparrows, kinglets, blackbirds, and thrushes zipped about and gathered the bounty of berries, seeds, and insects. Best birds (based upon seasonality) are Merlin, Double-crested Cormorant, Pine Siskin, and the huge number of Purple Finches. As always, a great time of year to be afield and "sitting" while watching birds.
