Team Notes

Participants: 55+ people attended over the course of the day. Birders, families, beginners to "experts".

Weather: 30-72F, wind variable direction 0-8mph, clear all day

Location: Chatfield State Park at the old heronry overlook (heronry long gone)

Time At Location: 5:30am - 7pm

Notes:
Colorado Parks and Wildlife helped me advertise The Big Sit! and also provided a canopy to help shade us from the sun. Thank you!

Anecdotes:
Many of us watched a Prairie Falcon take an American Coot! He hit it and it landed in the water just off a sandbar. After the "hit" the falcon landed on the sandbar. It then flew over the the still "twitching" Coot and dragged it to the shore of the sandbar and ate it while we all watched through spotting scopes!!! Wild!
