Team Notes

Participants: Core group of 4 (Julie, Carol, Jim O, and Rich). Another 10-12 observers at various times throughout the day

Weather: Mostly clear, fairly calm, unseasonably warm. Beautiful day!

Location: Observation platform at the Stephen J Young Marsh on the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge

Time At Location: 6am to 6pm

Beautiful fall day today! Not much wind, which seemed to limit bird activity, but made it much more enjoyable to be out. Steady activity, with the expected afternoon lull. Even without a lot of activity, we added 7 new species to our Big Sit list.

Highlight was likely 2-3 large flights of cormorants that flew directly over us. Over 1000 birds in about 10 minutes, very impressive sound as they passed over.
