Midwest Birding Symposium 2013: What People Said

Remembering the MBS 2013

It seems like only yesterday that we were enjoying the 2013 Midwest Birding Symposium at Lakeside, Ohio. What a special joy when things work out just like you hoped they would. How fortunate we were to be in such a beautiful place on the south shore of Lake Erie with perfect weather, special birds, and more than a thousand fellow bird watchers—it was overwhelmingly wonderful.

My heartfelt thanks to my family and colleagues at Bird Watcher's Digest, and to my friends and colleagues at The Ohio Ornithological Society, and The Lakeside Chautauqua for making the 2013 MBS a reality. To our speakers, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and attendees go our collective gratitude for making the MBS so special, once again—and even better than it was in 2009 and 2011!

From all of us involved in the 2013 Midwest Birding Symposium, thank you, and good birding!

What Attendees Said...

Thanks BT3, volunteers, attendees, and everyone who made this gathering of birders such a fun-filled, meaningful three days! You're all the BEST!

Mr. Acorn fell far enough from the tree to be totally mesmerizing. And Al Batt was fantastic. My first Midwest Birding Symposium, and as a new birder, I really enjoyed it! Everyone was very friendly!

Had a wonderful time with birds and people, especially learning about moths-another whole world to explore! See you in 2015!

Incredibly well-organized, with a nice balance of programming that provides solid information in the areas of bird knowledge and identification; tools and technology to see and record birds and wildlife; cultivating skills to develop one's own deeper appreciation of nature; how to spread the word and encourage new naturalists to participate; and how to support bird and wildlife conservation effectively.

Great job! Thank you!

Had a great time-met lots of interesting people, learned a lot, and laughed a lot! Thanks and love to you all!
